This review is from: eMachines EL1358-53 Desktop (Black) (Personal Computers)
My 2005 HP got “fried” during a thunderstorm. I didn’t want to spend a lot on a new computer so, after some research, I decided on the Emachine 1358-53 for $289 from Amazon, even though it had not yet been reviewed. So far, it works great. With 1TB hard drive and 3gb of RAM, it has more than I need. It didn’t come with a lot of preloaded software so I wouldn’t recommend this as a first computer. However, I have acquired a great deal of software over the years so I just loaded my old Word, Quicken, etc. into the new computer. My biggest complaint is with Windows 7. I lost all of my saved emails because you can’t load Outlook Express into Windows 7. You are stuck with Windows Live Mail whether you like it or not and no way to transfer from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail even though my old hard drive was intact and contained my emails in addition to having saved them to an external hard drive. Microsoft “sucks” but Emachine doesn’t.
